FLIGHTSHIELD REACTIVE POLYMER APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

Important Note Prior to Applying Flight Shield Polymer-

The painted surface needs to be in a like-new condition, without dust, fuel, grease, grime, salt, wax, and silicone residues. The surface must also be thoroughly clean.

  1. Shake the bottle before applying Flight Shield Polymer. Flight Shield Polymer will have a noticeable change in viscosity at variant temperatures and may not flow from the bottle during cooler temperatures. This can be resolved by lightly warming the bottles with a hairdryer or storing the bottles in an area 72 degrees F. or warmer.

  2. Using a hand applicator pad, apply a thin and even layer of Flight Shield Polymer to the surface. We recommend a 5 ft. by 5 ft. section or smaller.

  3. Using an orbital polisher and a clean foam pad or terry cloth bonnet, work the product in both directions (left and right) and in the perpendicular up and down pattern ensuring that every part of the surface has been worked evenly from every direction. The product will not haze up like a traditional wax and will stay slightly fluid and wet on the surface. This is normal as the curing process takes place.

  4. Remove residue of the product with a microfiber bonnet placed on the orbital polisher. If residue still persists then hand wipe the area with a clean microfiber using a circular motion.

  5. Repeat the above steps for the next section of the aircraft while slightly overlapping the previous section to ensure complete coverage.

  6. Verify that no product residue is left on the surface. The coating will continue to cure over the next 12 hours. Avoid flying the aircraft or getting the aircraft wet for at least 12 hours after the application.
